Plantronics Discovery 975 universal Bluetooth headset boasts of the best sound quality among the Bluetooth headsets available in the market this year. However, this asset was marred by the product’s bulky and unfashionable appearance.
Its features are similar to its predecessor Plantronics Discovery 925. It has the same noise canceling properties but it has improved when it comes to providing comfort to the user and being easy to use. The call quality has gone better and the battery life extended by threefold.
From afar it might look like a giant hair pin with a faux leather covering it on the front. From the front, you will see a square diamond and a long boom microphone that is slightly more stylish than its predecessor.
A lot of users say it appears almost like a piece of jewelry when worn. Thus, not a lot of users may want to purchase it. A multifunction button is located at the base of the boom microphone.
On top of it is a very thin LED indicator that lights up with white when it is switched on. Since the button is attached to the overall boom mic, you might have to apply a bit more pressure to push it.

The Plantronics Discover 975 is sold in a portable leather charging case that brings it a notch higher in style. It looks a lot like a lipstick case but one that has an LCD screen that lets you monitor your battery level.
This casing snaps securely in place and the lever helps you easily take it out again. There’s also a clip strap for the case if ever you are accustomed to clipping your gadgets onto your packets or purse.
Customers who tested the product say that the voice sounded great and natural. There was enough volume when they were in a moving vehicle. The background sound in the road and the engine were not heard over the phone.
Pairing process with other mobile devices was also good. Especially when it comes to iPhone 3G. The pairing process went smoothly. The interface didn’t even ask for a pin code, though this may have been different when paired with another phone.
The Plantronics Discovery universal Bluetooth headset lasts for 5 hours of talk time and 7 days of standby time. The charging case adds an extra 10 hours of talk time.
